The Dirt, The Skinny, The Need to Know...

THE COST: Entry fee is only $18.00 online, with no processing fees! REGISTER HERE $20.00 if you submit paper form. (Children 10 and under $10.00) *Entry fee is $25.00 beginning June 14* (Please selecet "Waves" to determine which one to enter.)
THE ENTRY FORM AND REGISTRATION: Online Registration is HERE. Register in person at Bandanna Running. Printable entry form You can find entry forms at: Saint Alphonsus, all Zamzows locations, Bandanna, area KeyBank branches.
THE DAY: Friday - June 22, 2013 THE TIME: Event will begin at 6:25pm - sharp.
THE DAY OF REGISTRATION: Day of Registration at Bandanna Running will end at 5:45pm. If you are in a competitive wave, your data must be in by 5:45! If you are doing the Children's Half Miler or the Mayor's Mile, we will accept your entry until 6pm but you may not receive a time.
THE GROUP ENTRY: Get your group out! Enter the Main Street Mile as a group this year. There is no limit to the number of participants who may be entered as a "group". Turn in 20 entries and receive a dri-fit shirt. Turn in 40 entries and receive a Nike hoody. Turn in 60 entries and receive a Nike backpack. Group entry must be submitted by June 14. This is different than 'TEAM' entries for the competitive waves.
THE PACKET PICKUP: Race packets will be available at Bandanna Running and Walking, 504 W. Main in downtown Boise. Packet pickup hours are: June 22 11am-6pm.
THE WHAT YOU GET: Each paid entrant will receive a commemorative race t-shirt. The opportunity to play in the streets of down town Boise!! The chance to win overall, age group and door prizes. Most importantly, the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to save lives!!

THE COURSE:
Starting line will be located at the intersection of 4th and Main St. Runners will travel east on Main St. to 3rd where they will turn left and run north to Idaho St. Keeping with the theme of turning left, go ahead and make one at the intersection of 3rd and Idaho, then run up Idaho to 6th. From there...you guessed it, turn left at Main St and repeat the loop. The finish line will be at the intersection of 5th and Main after completing the 2nd lap. There will be vehicles leading you around the course, but when in doubt, or having feelings of being lost while running the Main St. Mile, always remember to RUN HARD AND TURN LEFT!!

THE KIDS:
The little ones will be led around the course by a Meadow Gold ice cream truck...once they finish, we'll kick the doors open and give them some treats!!! This wave is not timed, but we think that they will be highly motivated to make all those left turns in a very speedy manner. We encourage parents to join their children as they scamper through the streets.

ADULTS - IF YOU WILL BE PARTICIPATING WITH YOUR CHILD, YOU MUST REGISTER FOR LIABILITY REASONS. REGISTER INTO THE MEADOW GOLD HALF MILER WAVE, ENTRY FEE WILL BE $10.

THE TEAM CHALLENGES:
Teams will consist of five (5) members. All five team members will run the course at the same time...so yes, that means you all have to slug out 1 mile. The scoring is very simple, you are awarded a point for your place of finish...if you finish first, you get one (1) point. If you finish 20th, you get 20 points. The team with the lowest aggregate score wins. Perfect score is 15 points...that's a finish order of 1,2,3,4,5.
FIRST RESPONDERS CHALLENGE:
For the100.3 The X First Responders Team Challenge, all five team members must be from the same unit...BPD, BFD, BLM, military etc. Always looking to stir the pot of friendly competition, the BCFD boys clain the BPD is too afraid of them and fully expect to be polishing the parking meter again this year. Ada County Paramedics took home the traffic light, but it remains to be seen if they will defend.
CORPORATE TEAM CHALLENGE:
In the Idaho PowerTeam Challenge, all five team members must actually work for the same business, sorry,no stacking the team!

THE IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:
Approximate start times for waves will be included in your race packet. These are just approximate times, please listen for announcements between waves.
You must compete in the appropriate competitive waves as designated in the race descriptions to be eligible for age group awards.
THE REGULATIONS:
In the interest of safety & courtesy for all participants, please warm up on the side streets while a wave is in progress, not on the race course.
Strollers and baby joggers:
Participants in the Children's Half Miler and the Mayor's Mile for Everyone are allowed the use of strollers or baby joggers, we ask that you start towards the back of the group to limit the amount of interference.
Animals, baby joggers/strollers, bikes, skates/blades are NOT PERMITTED in any of the COMPETITIVE Main Street Mile waves unless expressly given permission by the Main Street Mile race committee. Participants not abiding by course regulations may be subject to disqualification.

THE STREET CLOSURES:
Beginning at 5:15pm June 22, the following streets will be closed:
Main Street - Between Capitol Blvd and 3rd
5th Street - Between Grove and Idaho
4th Street - Between Grove and Idaho
3rd Street - Between Grove and Idaho

Idaho St will be restricted to one lane between 3rd and 6th.
6th St will be restricted to one land between Idaho and Main.

THE PARKING:

All parking meters are in effect Mon. - Fri. Until 6 pm.
Meters along the race course will be reclaimed and unavailable for parking beginning at 2pm.
The following pay lots will be open:Broad St. and Capitol; 6^th and Grove
The following parking garages will be open:
City Centre Garage, Bannock Garage, Eastman Garage, Grove Garage
(First hour of parking is free in all public garages)
